Refractory brick configuration for floating glass melting furnace

In the glass industry, the quality of refractory bricks for melting furnaces is of great significance for improving the output and quality of glass products, saving fuel, prolonging the service life of melting furnaces and reducing glass production costs. Poor refractory bricks will not only limit the operating temperature of the furnace, but also seriously damage the quality of the glass, resulting in defects such as stones, streaks, bubbles and unnecessary coloring, thus greatly affecting the productivity of the furnace. The working state of each part of the melting furnace is different, which requires different performances of the refractory bricks. The basic requirements for the refractory bricks for glass melting furnaces are roughly summarized as follows:

(1) Sufficient mechanical strength is required to withstand mechanical loads at high temperatures;

(2) A fairly high refractoriness is required;

(3) High chemical stability and strong resistance to molten glass erosion at the operating temperature are required;

(4) No or very little pollution to the glass liquid;

(5) Good thermal shock resistance;

(6) The volume is fixed at the operating temperature, with small reheating line shrinkage and thermal expansion rate;

(7) Solid refractory bricks shall be easy to process and shall be accurate in size, and the refractory bricks shall have the same performance with the matching materials.

According to the different working parts and industrial characteristics of the furnace, various refractory bricks shall be reasonably selected to ensure that each part of the furnace can fully play its role, so as to increase the output, improve the quality of glass, balance the service life of each part of the furnace body, thus prolonging the service life of the furnace, reducing fuel consumption and reducing product cost. Usually, in order to improve the quality of glass and reduce the defects in the finished glass products, when the investment capital allows, the refractory bricks shall be reasonably configured when designing the melting furnace and the high-quality refractory bricks shall be selected as much as possible.
