Technical Team Leader
Profile of the Professor-level Senior Engineer
Shi Gan, male, a professor-level senior engineer, was awarded the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1982, and Master of Engineering in Non-metallic Materials in 1988. Now he acts as Deputy Chief Engineer of Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research Co., Ltd., postgraduate supervisor and is an expert entitled to special government allowance of the State Council. In 2009, he was appointed Vice Chairman, the Sub-Technical Committee on Metallurgical Non-metallic Mineral Products (SAC/TC183/SC17) of the National Technical Committee on Steel Standardization.
Engaged in scientific research for 27 years, he conducts research and development of new technologies, new processes and new products of refractories. He took charge of and got involved in the national key science and technology research projects during the “Eighth Five-Year Plan” and the “Ninth Five-Year Plan”, National Research Institute Research Project, National 863 Program, and National Key Technology R&D Program. Now taking charge of the International Refractories Test Method Standard Project (ISO/TC33/SC/WG20). He studies the relationship between the composition, structure and properties of refractories, develops new products and new processes of refractory products and amorphous materials. The research projects include the research on high-temperature mechanical properties of carbon containing refractories, the development and application of low creep brick series in hot blast furnace, the development and application of metal bonded sliding plate materials, the development and application of circulating fluidized bed wear-resistant refractory castables, and magnesia and magnesia-calcia tundish coatings. In 1993, he won the second prize for science and technology progress granted by the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry; In December 1995, he won the third prize for science and technology progress in Henan Province; In 2000, he won the second prize of Xingshui in Henan Province; In 2009, he won the third prize for metallurgical science and technology. In 2001, he won the national patent for invention with “Magnesia tundish coating used for continuous steel casting”; In 2008, he won the national patent for invention with “A lightweight composite unburned brick for nitrogen kiln and a preparation method thereof”; He has had more than 30 papers published and got involved in the compilation of 2 technical books.
He has made outstanding results in the promotion and application of new refractories technology and new product technologies. He ever provided technical services to more than ten small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the production of refractories, supporting their technological development; He carried out on-site promotion and application of new products and technologies in multiple iron & steel companies.
